Summary, etc In the first section we attempt to describe the present state of conditions for the human in trouble, the person in need of help. The hope that we see is in the atitudinal disposition of the whole counselor, a whole person who views counseling as a way of life. In the second section, we describe our attempts to develop a comprehensive model of facilitative interpersonal processes, a model in which both therapist and client are assesed on the same core dimensions of interpersonal functioning. The potential preferred modes of treatment are studied in the third section. In the fourth section, we attempt to make application of the model of core conditions and preferred modes of treatment to clinical practice. In the last section counseling and therapeutic processes are viewed again in their relation to society at large.
