The Analects /

The sayings of the famous Chinese philosopher, Confucius, have been known to provide a sense of meaning since many years.The Analects (Penguin Classics) features a collection of his most noteworthy sayings, which were compiled by his disciples after his demise. This book continues to be widely read in China as well as other South-East Asian countries. These sayings are part of a bigger moral scenario that Confucius preached. He believed in the virtue of being true and politically correct.

Confucius said that family loyalty and ancestral worship were true to human beings and should be religiously undertaken. Considered as part of the Five Classics of Confucius, The Analects is what is known as the pathway to Confucianism. This edition of the classic work contains many of the texts of Confucius, including his ideologies on filial love and the solution to marking the end of human conceit. Respecting others as you want to be respected (the golden rule of Confucius) is one of his sayings which are fondly recalled even today.

Confucius aimed to produce young citizens who were ethical beings and believed that effective leadership could only blossom from a virtuous human being. The Analects ponders over these pearls of wisdom from one of the greatest Chinese philosophers and thinkers, Confucius.
